The A&R Man by William Mickey Stevenson

The A&R Man

I recently viewed Mr. Stevensons’ film documentary at the BronzeLens Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that not only had he an accomplished career and reputation in the beginning of the Music Recording Industry, but he also made a successful transition to the Theater as a play writer and producer.

After listening to him, speak following the presentation and asking a few questions of him, I was very interested in more that he had to say.  I wondered if his drive and opportunities ran similar to mine and if so, how did he make the most of each situation.

I found myself smiling and laughing with his candor and honesty, as he told his story, as I read. His memory of moments in his past, is so engaging. You would think he is across the table from you. I found his manuscript of personal experiences relatable and familiar as he told it.

Mr. Stevenson shares his experiences in the entertainment industry, and shares moments only a hand full of people could communicate about from the past. He has lived his life with integrity and on the edge.  He found a way to transfer his talent into what ever he was doing, from industry to industry.

The book is a wonderful read for todays’ time from a man that speaks directly from the heart.
